People have taken to social media to share their messages of condolences to the Sundowns co-coach's family, Steve Komphela.
Komphela is in mourning as he has lost his older brother who passed away yesterday ( Monday,) at the hospital after he was admitted for Covid-19 related treatment.
Many people on social media were wondering how is Butana related to Steve Komphela. Well, they are siblings, infact Butana is the eldest in the family and was the eldest surviving family member.
He sadly passed away on Monday at EmoyaMed private hospital in Bloemfontein shortly before 4pm.
The family spokesperson, Alexander Xaba confirmed that Komphela had been admitted to hospital more than a month ago for Covid-19 related treatment.
He said that the family is awaiting the postmortem results to determine the cause of death.
Xaba said the family is in mourning as this is such a difficult time in their family, considering the fact that the head of a family has died. His death is not an easy thing for anyone.
It will be remembered that last year in November, Komphela who was previously the MEC of Health in the Free State and the National Assembly sports committee chair, was found guilty of culpable homicide for his involvement in an accident that took the life of 50- years- old Manyonya.
