A video that has been circulating on social media shows taxi drivers assaulting a man who is allegedly a member of Uber/Bolt drivers. According to an eyewitness, the Uber driver was tracked after he picked up a client. He then tried to outmaneuver the criminal members of the Katlehong Taxi Association.
They instructed the driver to get into their car, kidnapping him to an unknown location where he was later released. Although it's not yet verified, a video that was posted by one member of the Katlehong Bolt Association shows the criminal taxi driver in handcuffs with the caption "He is arrested".
The Bolt Drivers quickly gathered on the scene promising retribution if the swift arm of the law does not catch up with the other criminals. The members of taxi associations routinely cause chaos, taking the law into their own hands and kill each other over routes rarely face a strong condemnation from the government because of the large voting block they command on through membership.
