According to the CIC, Hillary's murder was ritualistic based on the damage to her body. Shouldn't we wait till the Police have completed their investigations before making such statements? And the fact that Malema is making more noise about this issue than the victim's father, Godrich Gardee, raises questions of its own.
During his Monday press conference, a very distraught Julius Malema informed reporters of the arrest of a fourth suspect in the Hillary Gardee murder case. Malema gave the idea that the EFF had recruited private investigators who played a significant role in the arrests of the three remaining individuals.
Police have distanced themselves from Malema's claim that a fourth suspect had been apprehended in connection with the murder of Hillary Gardee, proving that he lied without provocation.
Journalists were informed by the CIC that the party's private investigators had located an individual in eMalahleni who was linked to a FNB bank account. Insinuating that Gardee was kidnapped for ransom, Malema stated that the suspect planned to deposit approximately R500,000 into the account before killing Gardee.
Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, Police Spokesperson for Mpumalanga, states that Malema's information is false.
"No one has been apprehended as of yet." "Mohlala stated that there are still three suspects who have been arrested. "Our inquiry is underway, but the investigating officer is unaware that a person has been arrested at Witbank [eMalahleni]. If somebody is detained, we will inform the public," stated Mohlala.
When Malema announced that a fourth person had been apprehended, the majority of us wondered why the police had remained silent. It appears that Malema is either desperate to bring all the suspects to justice or is aware that the police should arrest someone else. How else can a leader like him lie unprovoked like that? If Malema does not watch what he says about this issue, he will cause split among his party. There are currently rumors that a top EFF member has been implicated in the case. According to reports, one of the apprehended suspects, Philemon Lukhele, believes he was tortured by police in order to accuse the senior member. This raises eyebrows by itself. Malema's actions contributes to the spread of rumors.
