If you felt the tremor this morning, here is what it means for you

An earth tremor of a magnitude scaled at 3.5 was experienced in the East rand and Johannesburg This morning (Tuesday 18th January). It was also confirmed by the council of Geosciences and recorded.

The tremor is reported to have struck at around 6:33am, on the southern west of Johannesburg.

Last year in October, a 3.1 magnitude tremor was recorded at the same location on the 27th October around 11am.

Some parts of Gauteng experienced 3.5 and a 4.2 magnitude that rocked the areas. This was in July last year.

This recent earthquake hit around the moments of 6.30am and lasted for a few minutes.

The news about this tremor have been widely circulating on social media as awareness has been spread. Some people did not take the tremor serious until finding out that it was actually a real tremor and not just a random earth shake.
