A police officer from Freestate in South Africa has been sentenced to spend 16 years in jail for kidnapping a chemistry student from University of Freestate and force the victim to manufacture drugs.
South African Police Service spokesperson Captain Christopher Singo said Moleboheng Precious Mohasoa who is 29 years old ( the former police official who was attached to the Protection and Security Services (PSS)), along with Innocent Paki Kompi who is 31 years old and Napo Moses Mohasoa who is 33 years old had appeared in the Freestate Bloemfontein Regional Court on Monday to face their sentencing for the kidnapping and drug-related charges.
Student victim persuade to make drugs
This three have been declared guilty of a criminal offence on drugs charges and for abducting and holding a student captive on January 28 after they had initially coerced the victim to help them in the manufacturing of drugs. “The victim, who was reported to be a chemistry student at the University of Free State, said the matter to the police after he freed himself from the house where he had been kept against his will for weeks,” Singo said,
“A search and seizure operation was conducted by the Hawks’ Serious Organized Crime Investigation team at the premises were the victim was kept. Singo said, " The tree were arrested at the house that the student. Police searched the house where the victim was kept and found the kidnappers there. the trio were arrested and the drugs were also found in a safe. The trio was sentenced to 15 years in jail on a count of kidnapping and to 12 months for a drug dealing charge. “They will effectively spend 16 years direct imprisonment,” Singo said.
