The Minister of Basic Education Mrs Angie Motshekga reportedly expressed concern over the abduction of children in schools .
Therefore , the Minister indicated that her department was working closely with the security cluster in order to help curb the kidnapping of children .It is concerning that there have been increases in the cases of abduction of children .
A few weeks back, an 18-year-old matric student survived abduction right outside her school in Johannesburg .In November , an 11-year-old got kidnapped outside a school on Mayfair , which is also in Johannesburg .
There were kidnapping incidences as well of the four Moti brothers two months ago in Polokwane . They were on their way to school when the kidnapping took place .
The reunion however took place after they were allegedly made to pay a ransom of R50-milllion .In response to these developments , the Minister revealed that her department was working closely with the security cluster in regard to the cases .
