SAPS stopped a suspicious Nissan with Abalone poachers

SAPS and the JMPD K9 unit quick reaction resulted in the confiscating of Abalone as well as seizing a Nissan Bakkie in the early hours yesterday, the SAPS stopped a suspicious looking bakkie and immediately ordered it to pull over on the side.

It was reported that this incident took place at around 01:00am the members of the SAPS were following the information they got about the Abalone poachers, and they suspect this vehicle only to later discovered that they stopped the right vehicle.

Unfortunately the suspects didn't immediately stopped they fleed off and the police chased down the vehicle on the Deare street Redhouse, one of the suspect who was sitting at the back jump off while the vehicle was moving, and ran into the bushes.

A total of 2536 units of Abalone was impounded in the vehicle, together with the vehicle that was used to transport the Abalone, that is estimated to be worth R500 000.

The police will investigate further on the case.
