A clinic in Pretoria's Saulsville was left damaged after it was reportedly broken into on Friday. Gazankulu Clinic was reportedly one of the service providers in Atterridgeville . The clinic is important in the provision of Covid-19 vaccination services in the City of Tshwane .Rina Marx who is the MMC for Health in the City of Tshwane confirmed that the damage was extensive. She said that she visited the clinic and found that the damage was extensive.

The intruders reportedly used objects to gain access into the building. In the process , there was damage to the doors as well as gates. The intruders did not take any medication in accordance with the update that was provided. Even though the clinic resumed with its operations, it was reported that some operations were affected .The attack was condemned and seen not only as a hit on the institution, but to the people of Saulsville as well. This being the fact that it affected the health service provision .As a result of the robbery, it was reported that law enforcement agencies were working on finding the culprits and to bring them to book .It is devastating to note how health institutions have been the target of criminals in South Africa.

A couple of days ago , a vaccination team got robbed at gunpoint in Soshanguve , losing gadgets , cellphones and tablets. The Gauteng education expressed worry over the incident and described the act as an attack on the society .It is high time the law enforcement agencies provide protection to health institutions as they have become targeted by criminals. Health institutions focus on providing health assistance to the community, but they have been the target zones of criminals who focus on getting their hands on things that they can sell. What do you think can be done to stop an attack on healthcare providers and facilities?
