She was stabbed to death by ex boyfriend laying next to her 2 year old

On Wednesday night, September 29, a young Cape Town mother was allegedly murdered by her ex-boyfriend in Kraaifontein. The assassination of Rhucian-Kay Lawak shocked the Kraaifontein community. One suspect has subsequently been arrested, according to the South African Police Service (SAPS).


Warrant Officer Joseph Swartbooi, a spokesperson for the South African Police Service (SAPS), said Lawak was attacked at Scottsdene, Kraaifontein, around 18:15 on Wednesday.

A 28-year-old lady was stabbed numerous times in the body and was pronounced dead by emergency professionals, according to a police spokesperson.

She lay in bed with her two-year-old child when her ex-partner, and father of the child, allegedly entered the room and stabbed her multiple times, killing her as IOL reports, citing witnesses of the event.

Rhucian-Kay Lawak’s family are in deep mourning over the murder which occurred yesterday, September 30 .

“The motive for the attack is domestic violence,” said Swartbooi. “A 29-year-old man has since been arrested.”

Rhucian was murdered by "someone she knew," however according to Rhucian's mother, the murder occurred because Rhucian had broken up with her former lover and refused to accept him back due to aggressive tendencies.

The unnamed accomplice is also said to have previously attacked Rhucian.

The residents of Kraaifontein are furious. The murder, which occurred at Kraaifontein's Scottsdene Rental Estate, has shocked the community. A Facebook group called "Justice for Rhucian" has been formed. Kay Lawak (Kay Lawak)

It is believed that Lawak’s alleged killer is her ex-boyfriend. “Justice for Rhucian-Kay Lawak,” a Facebook group started to honour the memory, support the family and find justice for the young mother currently has more than 1800 members – the majority of which joined the group shortly after it was started.
