Past president of the National Freedom Party and South African legislator Zanele Magwaza Msibi, died on September 6, 2021 aged 59 years old. The leader of the NFP in parliament, Zanele Magwaza Msibi, has announced his resignation. According to the NFP, Ka-Magwaza-Msibi passed away on September 6 at the age of 59 after being admitted to Durban's Umhlanga Hospital.

She was raised in rural Makhosini and holds a BA from the University of Zululand, as well as certifications in further education from the University of Natal and local government from the University of Westville. In the past, Magwaza-Msibi worked as a principal.

The actress Gugu Gumede was one of her many children. After a stroke on the 16th of November, 2014, her condition deteriorated rapidly and she was sent to the hospital. She died on September 6, 2021, in a hospital in Durban, South Africa, at the age of 59 after a cardiac arrest brought on by covid.
