JUST IN|| EFF Top Ally Shot Dead In A Pool Of Bullet

A yearning Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) ward councilor up-and-comer on Sunday was shot and killed in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

Michael Thulani Shangase was gunned down in the Herwood region, in Caluza, in the wake of getting back from an EFF crusade meeting.

Police representative Brigadier Jay Naicker said the intention in the killing was not satisfactory and police were on the chase after suspects.

"We have assembled the 72-hour initiation plan which involves the activation of particular units, for example, Crime Intelligence, the KwaZulu-Natal political errand group, criminal investigators and Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (the Hawks) to guarantee that proof, knowledge and data, which can help track and capture those capable, is accumulated," Naicker said in an assertion.

EFF Umgungundlovu area administrator Mzwakhe Mpuloto affirmed to The Witness Shangase was the party's contender for ward 20 in the Msunduzi Municipality.

"We realize that there is a ton of political prejudice in the Edendale region, yet for the time being we couldn't say whether this is politically-related," Mpuloto was cited as saying.

Meanwhile, police have spoke to anybody with data to contact CrimeStop on 086 00 10111 or their closest police headquarters.

"Sources might stay mysterious and all data will be treated with the strictest certainty," Naicker said.
