The Road Has Ended For Enyobeni Tarven. Read What Happened?

It seems the tarven of Enyobeni will be closed for good after the incident that happened in that area of East London; where 22,children were killed because of stampede and carelessness of the owner.

The board's chief inspector Zola Tyikwe says once investigations by the police have been completed, it will lay criminal charges against the owner. Meanwhile, tavern owner Vuyokazi Ndevu said the situation is very saddening. She has sent condolences to the families of those who’ve lost loved ones at her establishment.

“Necessary steps are being taken to deal with this liquor outlet, including the immediate revocation of the liquor license and laying criminal charges against the license holder for the blatant contravention of the Eastern Cape Liquor Act that clearly stipulates that no alcohol shall be sold to persons under the age of 18,” said ECLB Chief executive Officer Dr Nombuyiselo Makala.

Minister of Police Bheki Cele and Saps National Commissioner Fannie Masemola led a high-level delegation of crime scene experts on Sunday.

“We have an experienced team that is complementing the provincial team to ensure that we get to the bottom of what has led to the death of these young people.

“We are also engaging other stakeholders to investigate issues of compliance to liquor legislation”, Cele said.

Indeed these might give comfort to parents whom their children have died there but it won't bring them back. Parents here have learned in a terrible way that it's good to control your children; not children control parents.

No one else is responsible for your child....where were the parents in all of this. Yes the tavern owner should be held responsible too. However, the ones lies on the parents.This incident shows very poor parenting skills
