Ladysmith - Hundreds of people have been accommodated at the Ladysmith indoor sports center after being evacuated from their homes due to floodwaters that covered the Ladysmith central business district in Kwazulu- Natal. The klip River burst its banks on Thursday flooding lower parts of the town in Alfred Duma Local Municipality. The SA weather service forecasts partly cloudy conditions for the Ladysmith area until Wednesday. This incident weather affected 2068 household and people. At least 773 houses were destroyed, and 2095 houses were partially destroyed. Twenty-five people lost their life as a result of lightning and drowning incidents and one person is was still missing for now the situation is still unclear and the water is all over the CBD where many people and business are affected due to flood. The Municipality asked people around to more extra careful and cautious. The report estimates that it will cost R3,3 billion to repair damages.
