In the Gakoe district of northern Kiambu County, a 75-year-old woman identified as Theresia Wamaisa Nugna was attacked by an unknown assailant who forcibly slept with her before killing her. Later, on Monday, July 4, 2022, the corpse of Theresia Wamaisa Nugna was found by a neighbor due to a stink from the old woman's house.
According to police reports, the elderly woman, a mother of one, was living alone. On Sunday night, he was attacked by people who took advantage of her situation and raped her before killing her.
The Gakoe village elder, Paul Mwaura, expressed regret over the attackers' heinous act on the old woman's body. He reported the incident to police officers, who contacted forensic investigators to visit the crime scene and transport the deceased body to the mortuary.
As the nation prepares for general elections, residents of Gakoe village urged the authorities to step up security in the region.
