On Christmas eve, four people lost their lives when a fuel tunker and a bus that was bound for Mutare collided towards the Mutare tollgate.The deceased in the accident were reportedly burned beyond recognition.
In accordance with the update that was reportedly issued by the National Police Spokesperson Paul Nyathi , the collision took place as a result of the bus driver who lost control when he was avoiding a drunk person.
The action led to the driver getting into the lane of oncoming traffic , leading to the collision with a fuel tunker .It is sad that the driver of the tunker and his passenger died in the accident , together with two passengers from the bus .
There was a confirmation from the law enforcement agencies that there were more than 50 people who got treated in the nearby hospitals following the injuries that were sustained in the fatal accident.
