Business for South Africa (B4SA) has called on the government of President Cyril Ramaphosa to move fast and restrict access to public indoor areas that are not required for emergency use (such as hospitals, grocery stores and certain Government services) to vaccinated South Africans only. This according to the body will help to curtail the spread of the virus and the variants. Some people believe that the variants that are coming out in South Africa is as a result of those who have refused to be vaccinated. They have been referring to these people as anti-vaxxers. B4SA is an alliance of business people who work with the government, and other social partners, to mobilise corporate resources and capacity to combat the Covid-19 pandemic.
The body noted that once the government ban unvaccinated from taxis, restaurants and taverns, every one who is not vaccinated will try to be vaccinated as soon as possible and this may stop the different variants that have been evolving over the past few years. First it was the Delta variant, now another variant that is allegedly resistant to the vaccine is reported to be in South Africa. This ugly incident has made some countries to place South Africans on a travel ban to ensure that the virus variant is not introduced to their countries. This travel ban has not been favourable to South Africans who have been kicking against it vehemently. However, the travel ban remains. Many people who are vaccinated believe that it is those who refuse to vaccinate are the reasons the virus is mutating into other vaccine resistant variants. However, the unvaccinated people believe that the vaccine is a scam, declaring that a vaccine is supposed to stop the person who received it from having the virus, not to just reduce the chances of getting the virus. This business body said that once government enforce this ban, every one will get vaccinated within a Short time.
Nevertheless, people who are not vaccinated believe that the government cannot force them to accept the coronavirus vaccine jab because president Cyril Ramaphosa made it known sometime ago that no one will ever be forced to accept the vaccine here in South Africa against their wish. This is what the business body want the government to change or reverse to ensure everyone comply and accept the coronavirus vaccine to save South Africans from the ravaging effect of the pandemic.
