The leader of Enlightened Christian Gathering Church has spoken out against the eight-hour detention of his two lawyers in South Africa on Monday.
According to Bashiri, the move is “an escalation and intensification of a failed scheme” by Hawks officers to cover up corruption and extortion.
Two South African lawyers were arrested by police for Bushiri, but were later released from jail.
Bushiri said his South African lawyers, Terence Baloyi and Alvin Khoza, were detained Monday, taken to court where the prosecutors failed to charge them. The magistrate had to release them.
It also included an investigator from a private intelligence firm hired by Bushiri to expose the scheme by South African police recruiting girls to fabricate rape charges against him.
“It's shocking to note that after I had been jailed like a convicted criminal and my lawyers and the police investigation had been going on for several months, the Senior State Advocates, who issued the warrant of arrests, decided to withdraw the charges,” he said.
While saddened, he is not surprised with the arrest of his lawyers because the arrest is just a “failed scheme” of the Hawks officers to cover up the corruption and extortion cases that he opened against them.
Bushiri is refusing to face a fair trial in South Africa's unjust and unfair courts.
