Social media users has expressed their feelings after seeing Patrick Shai's wife addressing those who attended her late husband's memorial service. The memorial service was held at Market Theater in Newton, Johannesburg on Thursday.
During memorial service Masechaba Shai pleaded with people to stop judging her husband saying that no one is perfect. However, this didn't sit well with other social media users who questioned why she was addressing mourners. They also mentioned that according to the black culture she was supposed to be at home sitting on the mattress mourning.
While addressing the mourners, this is what she said:
"I am humbled by the support and love that you have been giving us. Patrick behaved like a child and my job was to ground him.I want to say all of you judging him, you need to start judging yourself first. This pain is very deep. He carried us. We were not perfect and he was not perfect. All the challenges affected all of us, he faced all those challenges.
He was a perpetrator like all of you in this place. I was never intimidated by the beautiful women who became the wives of my husband. When he said 'I am sorry' he meant it. My kids are hurting because of the country that my husband loved.
