Police woman being investigated for reckless driving

The case of reckless and negligent driving against a policewoman from Riversdale is still being investigated. 

This is according to Lt Col Delicia Isaacs, station commander of Riversdale police.

The docket was referred to the senior public prosecutor at Swellendam for decision. The accident took place on December 20 last year, around 19:00 in Main Street. 

The vehicle drove away from the scene after the collision with a motorcycle On CCTV material provided to Southern Cape Forum, the motorcyclist can be seen driving in the direction of Main Street, pulling the car away at the Van der Berg Street stop sign and drive in front of the motorcyclist. 

The footage shows the car stopping fleetingly, someone looking out at the passenger door and the driver then driving away from the scene, leaving the injured motorcyclist behind in the road. 

According to information, the motorcyclist was unconscious and had to receive treatment for his injuries.
