People are no longer safe when they go outside to do their daily work in South Africa because of the bad news that has been going around. People dying in the country is now so common that we couldn't go a whole week without hearing about it.
Remember that eight young women were raped by a group of men not too long ago and that the case is still open. Today, we got more bad news: a woman's body was found by her family after they had been looking for her for weeks. Sources say that the last time Unathi "Candice" Mabiza, who is 25 years old, was seen was at a family ceremony on July 16, 2022. After the party, she met up with her friends, and nobody knew where she was.
But on the 10th of this month, her mother found her at a Gqeberha police station. She was raped and burned so badly that she couldn't be recognized. Because of her tattoos, her mother was the only one who could tell who she was. At the same time, the police have not yet arrested anyone for murder.
It was sad news for the family and for everyone in the country as a whole. Getting a lot of bad news in the past few days shows that the country is in a very bad state and that the government isn't doing enough to protect its people. Here's what people on the Internet have to say about her terrible death:
@Holm, What is going on in our country? Women and children are no longer safe there. So sad that women in our own country can't be free.
@Mjayezi, So basically, we were all next, because I'm sure she was also reading these kinds of posts and thinking the same thing we were.
@Ntsala, No mother should have to see her child like that. How do u get over seeing ur child like that.
