Death strikes when it is least expected, and it is sad that almost 22 young people lost their lives when they were enjoying themselves.
The invite to the party that ended in mass deaths
In accordance with the Citizen , an invite was issued before the birthday party. The invite made it clear that it was a birthday party for "Cish and Spha" , little did anybody know that it would be death days for some of the young people. When you look at the very last part in Zulu which is written " kuzofiwa " , it meant that the party would be exciting . However , when " kuzofiwa" is translated literally, it means there are going to be deaths . Although "kuzofiwa" in that invite meant that the party would be exciting, the meaning changed literally as people died in the end like what it literally meant.
What was the cause of the deaths ?
At this moment , it is extremely hard to tell what could have led to the loss of the many lives. Investigations are still underway and the Health Department is handling the issue. When the news broke out , parents and relatives of some of the people who attended the tavern last night where denied access into the place as the relevant authorities were conducting their duties .It is heartbreaking to note that young people who had full lives ahead of them are no more. Their lives were cut short as they were trying to enjoy themselves. Although it is not clear what led to the deaths , this could have been avoided if parents and organisers of the event had played their duties in a proper manner. As this issue is yet to be concluded , more details will be shared in due course .
