It's been said that Doreen Muthoni slept for six hours with an HIV-positive man after her husband died, and she chronicled the experience in her memoirs.
Her first husband grew inexplicably irascible after the birth of their kid, according to Doreen, and she was forced to quit her first marriage.
As a result, when her first husband died in an accident when she was pregnant with their second child, he was given custody of her as his wife and they moved to Mombasa together.
She alleges that her in-laws began harassing her after she gave birth, so she escaped to Kiambu county with her children and moved there.
It was while she was living in Kiambu that she met a man who, unbeknownst to her, was HIV- and Aids-positive.
However, she's grateful that she didn't have any health difficulties and received treatment after he asked her to go to the doctor.
As a result of her time working in the oil industry in Saudi Arabia for the previous four years, she now performs gospel music. She attributes this newfound freedom to God, as well as the care her mother has provided for her children during this time away.
