Seven killed in yet another taxi accident on R61

Seven people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident on the R61 after Aberdeen early on Monday morning. The Eastern Cape Transport Department said a fully-loaded mini-bus taxi traveling to the Western Cape crashed into a stationary recovery car at the site where a broken-down bus was being repaired.
6 people including the driver of the taxi were confirmed dead on the scene after the minibus overturned. The 7th person was declared deceased upon his arrival at the hospital. Among the deceased there were four children, two women and two males. There are 18 people who fortunately survived but they were left injured.
The group was transported to Aberdeen and Midlands Hospital in Graaff-Reinet for further medical treatment. Hopefully they will all make it and police are urging taxi drivers to stop driving recklessly on the road because at the end of the day it is not helping anyone but Taking Lives.
