Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Medics transported a wounded 37 year old employee of Waterloo Spar to hospital by ambulance and a pregnant female employee was treated at the scene for an anxiety attack, after a robbery had occurred.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa news report, yesterday, Thursday, 30 June 2022 in the afternoon heavily armed gunmen stormed into Spar, Tops and KFC simultaneously and robbed the shops of large sums of cash and alcohol, a 37 year old manager at Spar was unfortunately shot during the robbery.
Several staff members scattered all over others hid in cold rooms while others fled the scene through a back door, after getting what they wanted the suspects fled the scene in three separate vehicles, a white VW Polo, a white Toyota Quatum and a silver Hyundai, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) officers and medics were called to the scene after the suspects had already left.
Upon their arrival, the 37 year old victim was taken to a hospital after he had sustained a gunshot wound on his abdomen, a pregnant female employee was treated for an anxiety attack at the scene.
No arrests have been made at this stage, a case of robbery and attempted murder is still under investigation.
