Charlotte Maxeke hospital fire, accessing compliance

Amid allegations that fire hidrnats were not working at Charlotte Maxeke hospital, questions have emerged as to wherether the health facility was compliment with various fire safety regulations and legislation.

The private fire service claim that the fire hydrants at the Hospital were not working and contributed to a devastating blaze.

The Gauteng government had hit back saying that they have records saying that they were last inspected a few months ago.

These aspects will form part of an investigation if wherether the facility complied with legislation. Fire safety consultants say that the law Includes the Occupational and safety act.
