Iorliam Jennifer Awashima, a Youth Corps member kidnapped on her way to the NYSC Orientation camp in Kebbi State, has been contacted by the banditry group responsible for her kidnapping.
According to family sources, the robbers have already made contact and threatened to kill or marry off the victim if the N3 million ransom demanded is not delivered as soon as feasible.
Jennifer, a graduate of Benue State University's Department of English, was abducted in Zamfara State on her route to Kebbi State for her NYSC on Tuesday evening, according to KemiFilaniNews.
"The bandits called and demanded 3 million naira at the very least," he said.
According to a screenshot tweeted by renowned Benue social media influencer Krayzietee Atu, "They said if we don't pay the money, they'll either kill her or marry her off."
As at the time of writing, neither the police nor the NYSC has responded to the development.
