RIP| She was sadly killed on duty, this is what happened

Being a paramedic is one of the most physically demanding jobs in South Africa; it demands a person to be on the road the majority of the time, regardless of the time of day or night. The position is a 24-hour shift, and the primary responsibility is to attend to injured people whenever and wherever they are.

Being on duty at night can be extremely dangerous, but paramedics are required to do so. Phumzile Dlamini, 40, was slain while on duty; she and her colleague were shot and killed at approximately 01:00 while assisting a patient who had been shot.

Phumzile, a paramedic from KwaZulu Natal, was shot twice and tragically died on the spot, while her colleague was shot three times and is presently fighting for her life in hospital.

She and a colleague were on duty at the time of the incident. Phumzile was the mother of three children, a daughter who was 21 years old and two sons who were 19 and 12 years old.

It's tragic that she was slain while on duty; she was performing her duties and could not be protected.

Rest In Peace, Her Soul.
