Following the event that allegedly occurred on Saturday, 13 August 2022, in which two boys aged 8 and 12 allegedly fell into the water and drowned, the Police divers were able to recover the body of a 12-year-old boy from the Seshego Dam today.
The 8-year-body old's was found on the 13 of August 2022.
From Saturday until today at around 12 o'clock, the South African Police Service Search and Rescue members had been hard at work conducting the search. They had succeeded in recovering the body of the second drowning victim.
Once again, parents and guardians are advised to make sure their kids are not swimming activities unsupervised and to be cautious of this dam because there have been multiple drowning cases reported in the region in the past.
The Team has received praise from Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the Provincial Commissioner of Limpopo, for their commitment and persistent efforts in finding the drowning victims and ultimately saving them.
Two counts of an inquest have been opened by the police, and more research is being done.
