Mombasa Road: A Female Traffic Police Dies While Saving Accident Victims
On Sunday morning, September 26, around fifty minutes after midnight, a Mercedes Benz truck driver on his way to Nairobi lost control of his vehicle and drove off the road. The truck slid and toppled on the opposite side of the dual carriageway, spilling its contents in the middle of the highway. The driver was not seriously injured in the accident.
In a separate accident, a Nissan Sunny was also involved in the spilled contents accident a few minutes later after its driver struck the pile of spilled goods. It was also stated that the motorist, who was reportedly driving too fast for conditions, lost control and crashed into a ditch in the middle of a road reserve. Emergency services were summoned by motorists who were startled by the multiple-vehicle crash. Other motorists were warned by the motorists who asked for help.
However, when the dead and a male colleague tried to assist the occupants of the two damaged vehicles and to clear the scene of the accident, a Mazda Atenza driver struck the spilt contents and drove off the road, killing the deceased. "The motorist lost control and collided with the corporal, who died on the scene," according to the police report.
Following the transfer of the body to the Machakos Level 5 Hospital mortuary, a government pathologist was summoned to conduct a postmortem examination.
For further inspection and processing, the three vehicles were transported to the Kyumbi Police Station.
