The N3 South road after Van Buuran towards the M2 split (Gauteng Province) was closed down by officials after a huge explosion occurred, motorists were urged to avoid using this road and instead use alternative routes to arrive at their destinations.
According to the Flyingnewslive news report, earlier today, Monday, 16 May 2022 a vehicle was traveling with gas bottles on the N3 South road after Van Buuran towards the M2 split when the gas bottles suddenly exploded and it caught fire, luckily the other vehicles that were passing nearby did not catch fire.
There are currently no reports of whether the driver of the vehicle that caught fire survived or not, circumstances leading up to the explosion have not yet been established, officials had closed of the road and urged motorists to use alternative routes to arrive at their destinations.
Fire fighters arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the flames.
