Families Woke Up To A Sh0cking Accident

Accidents and the first ( small) gras fire, the incident has shocked the community members as they woke up to his incident.

The morning 08.03 started with a call from mr Jan Louis who saw an motorvehicle accident in Paarl North.

mr Louis did not know the address, but could indicate the closest landmark and what happened.

The DFW controller, who took the call, then looked at google maps, found the location and then send the pin with the exact location to the emergency services.

The ambulance and police were alerted at 08.05 via the Drakenstein municipal DSSN network per Whatsapps 1 the location, 2 what happened and 3 the exact time and as well as by phone by the DFW controlers just to make sure.

At 08.29 mr Louis called again to report that only police had arrived and that the matter was serious with the motor driver. DFW volunteer and advanced first aider Kade Loubser now was called and he rushed to the scene to assist.

Many if not most DFW volunteers have jobs and often drop their business to go and assist others in need.

Finally the ambulance arrived and the patient was taken to hospital with leg and knee injuries, many people wish the victim a speedy recovery.

Somewhat later a car rolled on the cecillia turnoff N1 and many services assisted.

Just after lunchtime a call came in regarding a small fire at corner J.v.Riebeeck and Klein Drakenstein road.

Paarl fire and DFW send a cruiser and this possible danger was suppressed in 10 minutes.

But it was the first grass fire of the season in Paarl and that is worrisome.

The fire we will see in the coming weeks will go with lots of smoke drama, due to green grass as well which produces enormous amount of smoke.
