LIMPOPO – Recent heavy rainfall in parts of Limpopo have attributed to an increase in dam levels.
Department of Water and Sanitation latest weekly Status of Dams report indicates a significant rise in the provincial water storage since last week.
To date the provincial storage stands at 71.2%, compared to last week’s 64.7%.
Ebenezer and Flag Boshielo dams, which form part of Polokwane Water Supply System, benefited form the recent heavy rains; Ebenezer now stands at 49.2.% from last week’s 38.3%. Same period last year it at 21.5%. While Flag Boshielo Dam recorded a slight increase from 80.2% last week, to 82.9% this week.
Dap Naude dam shows a slight drop from 108.4% last week to 107% this week and Tzaneen dam a sharp increase from 33.5% last week to 46% this week.
