As it stands the HPCSA has bust two fake doctors who are now arrested for selling fraudulent medical certificates. They were taken into custody in a joint operation in Germiston. The Health Professions Council says it worked with law enforcement agencies after a community tip-off.
The HPCSA discovered that one accused claimed to be Dr J Dominic, while the other pretended to be Dr AS Semambo. They were allegedly selling fraudulent medical certificates to members of the public.
Christopher Tsatsawane said "The kind of medical certificates are basically bogus and these are certificates that were making use of doctors who actually did not exist in terms of our register,"
Tsatsawane further went on to say "So in a nutshell, these are bogus practitioners who were actually taking advantage of our unsuspecting members of the public.”
Nhlanhla Lux Dlamini said:”They'll come to realize that: all these foreigners are not bringing any skills but fake Certificate as Practitioners.from Engineers to Nurses, they bought these certificates!! -Only South African youth are acquiring degrees and diplomas legitimately but never hired”
