Lauren Anne Dickason, a South African doctor who has immigrated to New Zealand a few weeks ago has appeared in court after being charged with murdering her three little daughters.

The former Pretoria resident, Lauren Anne Dickason, appeared in court in the port city of Timaru. According to a court spokesperson, a judge remanded her to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.

The 40 year old mother, Lauren Anne Dickason, is charged with killing her 2-year-old twins and their 6-year-old sister. The bodies of the children were found at a property where the family stayed.

Police assured the community that the tragedy was an isolated incident and they were not seeking anyone else for the murder.

The mother of the children has been described as 'a very humble' and 'the nicest person' by those who knew her. Meanwhile family members were left in a state of shock with many unanswered questions.
