"They do not want their people to go home and register to vote" SAns react to Zim closing boarders

The new Covid variant discovered in South Africa has led a lot of people to panic especially countries in the Southern African region.

The new Covid variant named omicron which was discovered after a positive test backing to the 9th of November has caused a lot of panic amongst the people. it is said to be more deadly and a bit different to what people are used to and the worst part is it could easily hide and go undetected during a nasal test.

After the discovery of the new variant Zimbabwe announced that the conditions at the boarders will be tightened making life a bit more difficult for the citizens of Zimbabwe returning form other countries.

The government announced that returnees will have to pay for their own quarantine accommodation for the days specified by the government weather they have a positive or a negative test. This frustrated a lot of Zimbabweans who were looking to go back home especially after the renewal of their working permits was revoked.

South Africans however upon hearing that the Zimbabwean boarders had been closed were of the opinion that Zimbabwe did not want their citizens back because they do not want them to register to vote. ''They closed because they don't want their people to go back home and possibly register to vote for the upcoming elections. This is a strategy by Zanu pf they see the outcry from SA citizens which put their citizens in pressure to go back home." tweeted @nakana arnold

A lot of people were in agreement with the man's statement although there was no direct evidence that this was actually true.

The new Covid 19 variant has really affected a lot of people's holiday plans even locally and people are now starting to re-strategize where and how they are going to spend their holidays.
