This afternoon, Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service responded to reports of a collision on the N2 South Bound at Esperanza.
When the emergency services arrived, they discovered a collision involving 13 automobiles.
19 people received injuries ranging from serious to mild, according to the immediate assessment of the scene by paramedics.
Before being taken to a hospital for additional care, the victims received treatment on the spot.

Heavy smoke from a grass fire reportedly reduced viability and caused the collision, according to reports from the scene.
Recovery services are at the moment sweeping the road.
In a separate incident A truck knocked down a man on Agnew Road in Carletonville during the night who is thought to be around 35 years old and sustained critical injuries.

At 1:50, Provincial Services and ER24 paramedics arrived on the site. The man was discovered critically injured lying on the highway. While being taken to Potchefstroom Provincial Hospital for more care, the patient required Advanced Life Support.
The truck driver escaped the event unharmed.
