Two mailing stations in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands were looted of South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) cards, PCs and R120,000 on Wednesday night.
"R120,000 was taken from the Glencoe mail center, alongside two PCs with award application frameworks and Sassa installment cards."
She said the office was worried "by the rising number of break-ins at mailing stations with the sole goal of taking Sassa cards".
"The Sassa cards have been intended to shield social award recipients from unlawful allowances, anyway there is an arising pattern or trick where recipients' assets are removed from their cards without their assent or information.
"It is associated that this elaborate duplication with recipients' cards and afterward getting out their records."
The office has requested for anybody with data on the burglaries to reach it or the closest police headquarters.
