Police in KZN are reported to be hunting for prisoners who reportedly escaped Wellington Correctional Prison.The report suggests that the prisoners were being transported back to their cells when they escaped. It was alleged that they were informed by motorists that the prisoners were escaping after banging loud the vehicle of the prison services .
The incident reportedly took place along Nqandu road on Tuesday. Investigations are reportedly underway to determine the circumstances that led to the escape of the prisoners . There was a call that was made to the members of the community to assist police with capturing the criminals who are on the run .
Anybody who may have information that may lead to the capture of the criminals needs to inform the authorities as these men may be a danger to the community. Cases of escaping are reported to have been opened against the prisoners.
