19 arrested at Zimbabwe pre-election protest

HARARE - Nineteen individuals, including 10 writers, were captured Thursday as Zimbabwe's principle resistance arranged a dissent at being avoided from arrangements for the following races.

The writers were delivered without charge two hours after the fact, while nine dissenters were all the while being held in the capital Harare.

Around 40 allies of the Movement for Democratic Change-Alliance (MDC-Alliance) attempted to enter workplaces of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission, which was meeting on arrangements for the 2023 decisions.

The commission hosts barred the get-together from the pre-political decision gatherings, which the MDC-Alliance contends places it in a tough spot in the runup to the surveys. Any remaining gatherings are permitted at the gatherings.

"The system is freezing," party representative Fadzai Mahere.

Different dissenters dissipated as police began capturing the quiet dissidents.

"There was positively no avocation for their capture," said Chris Mhike of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights, who addressed the kept writers.
