Video : Infuriated Police Minister Lashing Out at Action Society in a Meeting with Residents

The state of leadership is at stake in South Africa and it seems like our leaders have ran out of ideas, often in a meeting with residents things get out of hand and an exchange of words takes place between leaders and residents or structures representing residents, simply because service delivery is not happening. Every now and then residents demand to meet leaders of various departments, ministers, MECs and even the president himself, so that they can address their issues. Amazingly for leaders to provide directives, instead they get angered and play victims of circumstances with residents maybe to cover up their incompetency I think.

Recent and fresh is a video of police minister Bheki Cele that was captured by #DStv403 (ENCA), who is seen infuriated and lashing out at Action Society, who is accusing him of neglecting Western Cape and the group want policing devolved to the province, something which have not sat well with the police minister who got so enraged, the minister met with residents of Gugulethu earlier today where the incident took place.

The minister shouted at the member of a group who stood up in exchange of words with the minister, the minister told him to seat down and listen as he also sat down and listened to what the minister called "nonsense", The behavior of the minister many on social media platforms have lambasted as unacceptable and unruly towards members of the public who were just raising an issue.

Leaders are expected to behave themselves, I think there is a code of conduct for a government officials especially in a position of a minister, police minister should have conducted himself in a proper manner irregardless of how provoked he may have been, that was demeaning for such a person who hold such a respectful portfolio.

When asigned with such a responsibility, residents will one way or the other provoke you, but one need to understand that they hold a huge responsibility in improving the lives of the citizens without taking anything personal for that matter. We as citizens don't wish or want to witness such from our leaders, but we want leaders who are ready to be criticized and ready to be accountable at all times.
