The Lephalale Police are looking into an inquest case related to an incident that happened on 30 June 2022, at a farm in Steenbokpan.

The victim, who tragically passed away instantly, was alleged with the farm owner and a photographer when the buffalo attacked him.
Although the farmer attempted to save him by shooting at the buffalo, the buffalo then pursued and attacked him as well. He managed to get away by climbing the tree, and the photographer was able to maintain a safe distance.
Benjamin de Bruyn, 50, was pronounced dead at the site when emergency personnel, including the police, were called. After that, the owner was transferred to a hospital for medical attention.
The Provincial Commissioner Lieutenant General Hadebe urges residents, particularly farmers and tourists, to exercise extreme caution around such animals.
