Exposed|| Imprisoned JMPD Officer Is Still Employed & Receiving His Monthly Salary

A Metro police officer is serving an 18-year prison sentence for murder. According to records, he is still employed by the JMPD and he received his salary for a year after conviction officer.

gani Baloyi the metro police officer was found guilty of murder and three counts of attempted murder last year in May. His condition took place at the Gauteng High Court, the officer pleaded not guilty to all self-defense that he acted in self-defense during a road rage incident back in 2019 around Randburg.

After investigation, it was elf-defense that he did not act in self-defense when he shot Seja Nkwana dead and fired shots in the direction of for-year-oldies two friends, and his four-year-old son. Baloyi was not at work during the time and he used his service firearm.

Last year in July Baloyi was sentenced to 18 years in prison and is serving it at Johannesburg Correctional Facility. He tried to apply for leave to appeal his sentence and conviction, he petitioned the Supreme, Court of Appeal but unfortunately, he was denied In February Again the SCA decided to grant full leave to appeal to a Full Bench of the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg.

Baloyi was an officer employed as a metro police officer and preceding his full salary despite the charges he was serving and for almost a year he was getting paid. The issue of his Salary was brought to the Metro police department earlier this mostly made a bid on an affidavit in March pending appeal, on it, he revealed that he was still employed by the JMPD and would return to work if he was,s granted bail. After his revelations, the matter was brought to the attention of the JMPD.

The City's Department of Corporate and Shared Services released a letter confirming that Baloyi was still employed and still received a salary from the JMPD. The HR said that it received a letter on the 11th of April this year from Baloyi's line manager to stop his salary on the 8th of September 2021 but it was never implemented. Now he owes the JMPD the salary that he has been receiving.
