“This Is A Disgrace” – Twitter User Reacts To What Armed Men Did To A Bus Driver And His Passengers

A Twitter user has described the robbing of a bus driver and his passengers as a disgrace. The incident happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning in Tweefontein, Mpumalanga.

It was reported that the robbers who attacked the bus driver and his passengers fled away with cellphones and a lot of money.

Lieutenant-General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, Mpumalanga provincial commissioner said he was shocked and disappointed after the reports that three armed men robbed a bus driver and his passengers.

The passengers were on their way to work when they were ambushed. The bus driver was transporting passengers from Tweefontein K section to Tweefontein A section.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a Police spokesperson said the incident happened around 02:45.

"While waiting at Tweefontein A for passengers, three armed men boarded the bus. They threatened the driver and his passengers with firearms. They then robbed the driver of his bag, cellphone, staff card, and cash before firing two shots,” said Mohlala.

He said the men then robbed the passengers of their cash and cellphones. After robbing the passengers, they took the bus, drove it to a short distance parked the bus, and went away with the key.

The good thing is that no one was hurt in the incident and the police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
