Babatunde Lawal is a Nigerian art historian and art scholar. He is currently Professor of Art History at the Virginia Commonwealth University. His study focuses on Yoruba's visual culture and influences in the Americas.
During her transition in the United States, Noni began to participate in the New York Film Academy. Soon she graduated with a filmmaking degree and started making films. Veil of Silence (which she wrote, directed and produced) was one of her most remarkable works presented at several film festivals. The short documentary shows the triste reality of LGBT persons living in Nigeria (mainly homosexuals).
Noni won the 1st place Student Film Competition Treasure Coast International Film Award for her NYFA thesis "Morning after Midnight," and then produced and directed the compelling brief documentary 'Veil Of Silence' presented in London, UK at the BFI Flare London LGBT Film Festival in March 2014.
