A guy shot and killed an 8-month pregnant woman and her two children over a dispute over two sacks of corn.

Earlier this month, police authorities in the Rukwa district apprehended Philipo Vincent, a 22-year-old male who admitted to slitting the throats of the mother and her two children. He was taken into custody.

Theopista Mallya, the acting Rukwa Regional Police Commander, explained that the police were able to apprehend the suspect while he was attempting to hang himself.

He admitted to authorities that he had killed and that he intended to commit himself since he couldn't find peace after committing the murder.

In an interview with the Tanzanian police, the suspect admitted to giving the woman his two sacks of corn, worth Tsh100,000 (approximately 660 Rands ), in exchange for a promise from her that she would reimburse him when the time came.

Upon his request, the woman allegedly refused to repay him and claimed that she had not been forced to accept the maize as a loan from him.

When the suspect returned, he purchased a fresh panga, sharpened it, and then proceeded to slay the woman.

Later, he went on to do the same thing to her two children, Milliam (8 years old) and William (4 years old), for what he considered to be concealing evidence against him.

In his statement to the police officers, he said that the two children witnessed him killing their mother and that he therefore chose to kill them as well because they were familiar with him.
