A 24-year-old man ran and escaped a horrific scene after his drinking buddy was brutally killed in a shooting incident at an informal settlement in Canelands.
According to the Reaction Unit South Africa news report, earlier this morning 27 November 2021 a horrific shooting occurred at an informal settlement in Canelands, two friends were consuming alcohol when suddenly an unknown gunman kicked down the door and started shooting at them.
A 24-year-old man managed to run away after the gunman fled the scene fearing that the gunman may return again, he called the Reaction Unit South Africa members for assistance and they arrived at the scene where the shooting took place, a victim was found dead with a gunshot wound on his chest.
The 24-year-old man was transported to the hospital by ambulance to receive medical treatment after he sustained a gunshot wound on his abdomen, the motive behind the shooting is still unknown at this stage, a case of murder and attempted murder has been registered
