The people around in Alberton, east of johannesburg witnessed what they probably didn't before.
It's not usual not hear that professionals such a doctor would be caught by the traffic police disobeying the rules of the road but it happened.
A 32 year old doctor driving her Mercedes Benz was arrested by the traffic police for driving at top speed of 178km at the N12 road in Alberton, the maximum speed of the road was 120km
The metro police (EMPD) saw the car and a high speed chase instigated, upon signalling her and stopping she told them she was a doctor rushing to work.
The metro police justified the arrest of the doctor because they said she did not use a portable flashing device to signal that she is a doctor on call for an emergency.
Social Media users used mixed reaction to the issues most were saying the police let her go and some saying the police acted rightly.
