At around 18:56, neighbours contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) to ask for help for the injured man. The 34-year-old was discovered to have burns on the right side of his body when he arrived. He told the reaction officers that he confronted the mother of his 14-month-old child after learning from trustworthy sources that she had been cheating. His suspicions were validated when he saw her chats on her phone and saw private conversations with numerous males on her Facebook Messenger.

During the ensuing quarrel, the female took a kettle of boiling water and tossed it at the guy. The man ran about a hundred meters to his house. At the time of the incident, their young child was there. After arriving at his home a short while later, the woman said to the reaction officers that she had become angry when her partner questioned her about having several sexual partners.
No arrests were made right away since the victim needed to get to the hospital quickly for treatment. Soon, a criminal case will be opened.
