South Africans were on Friday celebrating the heritage day, which comes perennially on the 24th of September, it is that time of the year in which a lot of festivities occur throughout the country, as people celebrate their unity in diversity, mainly by carnivalisation of costume and braais, as a demonstration of their different cultures and traditions. But for the Ministry of Justice and Correctional Services, the day will not be remembered with fondness, this after one of the department's critical member sadly passed away in a tragic car crash.
Minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola was left in great shock after news emerged that the head of deputy minster Homolisa's office, Khaya Somgqeza, has died in a tragic car accident on Friday.

A statement was released on the department's website, and Lamola was quoted 𝘪𝘱𝘴𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘢 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘣𝘢 vircerally expressing his profound condolences to the Somgqeba's family, he equally waxed lyrical about the significant gap his passing will leave behind.
"We convey our deepest condolences to his family and friends and we assure them that their loss is equally ours as Somgqeza leaves a void that will be difficult to fill," Lamola said.

Somgqeza was a hugely experienced member of the public service, as the statement indicated he worked as a divisional manager at the department of International relations and cooperations before he joined he Justice ministry.
Details pertaining to where the accident took place were not disclosed, perhaps as police are still conducting their investigations as to what might have led to the accident.
The news will certainly be devastating to President Cyril Ramaphosa, as it will be another high-profile death as a result of car accident after Johannesburg Mayor Jolidee Matongo also passed away in a tragic crash last week on Sunday.
Despite the obvious fact that they are quite a number of factors which may lead to accidents, however, due to the number of people who have lost their lives on the country's roads, perhaps it was time government relooked the safety of the roads and enforcement.
The OnlineNewzBible team sends its most sincere condolences to Somgqeza's family, May His Soul Repose Peacefully.
