As South Africans were taking a break from the previous cycle of loadshedding that affected most parts of the country for over a week, Eskom has just announced that stage 2 Loadshedding is underway and will be effective from tonight 21:00 until Monday 05:00. This is due to a shortage in generation capacity caused by breakdowns and trips in power stations around the country.
According their statement they have futher indicated that in order for them to have enough power for the upcoming week, they need to preserve the remaining emergency reserves. There has been multiple trips in Hendrina, Tutuka and Kusile over the past few days. We have attached the full statement below for you.
